Today is patch day! Finally 1.48 has arrived, but unfortunately that means the servers will be down during the morning and probably afternoon.

Update: Excalibur went up sooner than I expected, probably about 12:30 CET. There were some problems however, so it's being shut down again as I speak (13:45)... I wanna play dangit!

A few interesting points to bring up, http://www.dallasbest.net/honourbound/endgame.htm. Take a read to decide what to wear at endgame.

And there is a RP field on your char screen, feel free to fill it in.

Gorre will be switching to English tomorrow. If you haven't played on there yet (in German or French), I recommend you try it before the patch goes live, as it will save you some downloading when the normal servers are patched, at which time the patch server might get overloaded..

To play on Gorre, make a copy of your DAoC directory and unpack the new update.zip in there. Then, just launch Camelot.exe.

When the patch day comes, just replace the old DAoC directory with this copy and you won't need to download. Keep in mind that this undoes any hotkey and ignore list changes made in the regular version since you made the copy. If you don't want this, copy some .ini and .ign files around (and maybe screenshots!).

For more info, read the official Gorre test server page.

Update: the switch to English has been delayed, stay tuned! :)
Update 2: the server is now up, but GOA messed up the new update.zip, after I reported it, they deleted it altogether, so just use this one %-)

The fifth level 50'er today: Stunningly. Now to get his main to 50 as well eh? :)

Unfortunately for us Joreth, Arakiss and Golani have joined Immortal Legion (Cormach's new guild) with most of their characters. I can't say I understand this urge to make a new guild, but I wish them all the best. See you around ;)

To my knowledge, Kirtapz has stopped playing DAoC altogether and has therefore also been removed from the member list.

With the help of Rumil I finally identified a problem some people might have when trying to log on to the website. After entering your username and password, you would be returned to the original page without being logged in.

There are two possible causes for this: either you have cookies disabled in your browser, in which case you need to enable them. The other one is that either you or your ISP is using some kind of proxy software that is not properly handling some server responses.

If you believe this is the case (you can't log in even with the right username and password), mail me at webmaster@tiwaz.org and I'll enable the alternative login method that should fix your problem. So far however, the problem seems to be limited to Rumil and possibly Meany :)

No less than three people made it to level 50 today: big congrats to Shaniah, Tarrasque and Hpnx (Eeny), even though the latter took a little uhhhh... shortcut, so to say :)

Have fun playing your alts and RvR'ing, hopefully many more will follow your example :)

A new member today: welcome Sigmaat :)

Tarrasque and Shaniah have both made it to level 49 today. Looks like they will be the guild's first level 50s after all :)

Eeny and Moe (Ozigheline) posted a couple of funny screenshots here originally, which I'm hereby consolidating into a single message ;)

The first discussion is on at the new forum, if you're interested in playing Prydwen/Hibernia, check it out.

Lastly, a belated welcome to Zymerth and Rumil. I hope you'll quickly feel yourselves at home in our little guild of nutcases :)

The new forums are up, and still very empty :) If you want to post anything, please don't use the old forum anymore.

You will no longer need a seperate account to post on our forums, you can use your website login and password instead. If you are a member of Tiwaz's Emissaries and haven't received a password yet, mail me at webmaster@tiwaz.org with your main character name.

Non-members can create their own account from the forum page. The usefulness for such an account is currently limited to the forum only.

There was a relic raid this morning, organized by Shade (ex Nolby Pride, currently guildless). Unfortunately it failed, for a number of reasons. Let's hope everybody learns from this experience...

On another note, Cormach is leaving our guild to start his own. I was rather unpleasantly surprised, but still I wish him all the best. See you around Cormach ;)

Hopefully next time I'll be able to give you all better news. Game on, and have fun :)

We passed the 100k mark on Realm Points today as a guild, and how... After half an evening of RvR'ing we are now at 112k :)

For unknown reasons the webserver crashed somewhere between late last night and 11 am this morning. Everything seems to be working normally again now, but I'm starting to be more and more in favor of putting webservices on a more reliable machine (read: one that doesn't crash randomly every 2 months or so)

On another note: yesterday the servers were finally rebooted after about 2 weeks running on end, so the new guilds in the Alliance should have access to alliance chat normally now.

I fixed a dead link to WinKey Killer on the links page today (oops).

On an entirely different note: the forum is kind of quiet lately. Of course we see eachother online a lot, nevertheless the forum has it's uses. If you run into interesting game related sites for instance, you can post a link there so other people can profit from it as well.
It's also a good way to keep in contact with the rest of the guild if you're a little short on time to play at the moment :)
